AIko: It just doesn’t feel right, they’re celebrating our achievement, but if it weren’t for Gess’ sacrifices, we would still be down there and everyone we love would be gone.

Rey: I know, it’s hard. And you’re right, if it wasn’t for her sacrifice we would not only be stuck in that hell, but never know our true history. It’s now up to us to take what she gave us, and do what she asked before she died, save our people, all of our people.

Aiko: For Gess

Rowan: It’s time.

Scene: After Rowan and the Sylph file into the throne room, Rey and Aiko then followed. In the room waiting were all of the governors from each region of Skyland.

Scene: Standing in the front are the Queen and the two council members, waiting for Aiko and Rey.

Scene: After entering, Rey, Aiko and Rowan bow to the Queen.

Queen: Aiko and Rey, today we celebrate an event that has never occurred in the history of our people. Before this burden fell to the two of you, no defender had ever returned from this dangerous challenge. And until this day, what appeared to be an impossible task, was made even more dire, knowing that this would be the last chance we would have for success. All of our lives hung in the balance of your success or failure. It was a weight no one should ever have to bear. But the two of you took up this challenge, and entered into an unknown land, with dangers on every side. Pressed for time, with no margin for error, you were able to overcome impossible odds, find the energy module, and delivery it within moments of our destruction. For this reason will you forever be celebrated by our people as the saviors of our lives.

But just as we celebrate your success, we also must celebrate one who sacrificed her very life to ensure that success. Gess carried within her a burden greater than any of us could comprehend, made even more amazing that someone so young would be willing to sacrifice for many she would never even know. But resolve will overcome all obstacles when it is led by love. And even though she appeared to be lost to us, her love for her us helped her find a way back.

Scene: The queen then stepped aside and revealed Gess behind her.

Scene: Aiko in utter dismay, gasps at seeing her, and then runs to embrace her.

Aiko: How are you alive. How is this possible. You died in my arms.

Gess: You saved me. When you placed me on that med table, it saw that I was still barely alive and it healed me. All I could think of while I lied there being healed, was getting back to you.

Queen: Sometimes the love we have for each other can break through barriers that might appear impossible to over come. Gess wasn’t ready to let go of that bound she shares with you Aiko, and although she was on the precipice of death, aided by this machine, she was able to find her way back to you again.

Scene: After Aiko and Gess had joined Rey , the Queen continued with her pronouncement.

Queen: As you know as a defender progresses through the challenges of their lives, they earn staffs that commemorate their success. In honor of becoming the first ascenders, it is our pleasure to present you with the highest honor of a defender, the white staffs of ascension.

Queen: Ladies and gentlemen of the court, I am honored to present the Ascenders.

Scene: At that announcement, the governors and their spouses all applaud.

Queen: Aiko, Gess and Rey, if you will follow the Sylph, I believe the citizens of Oriana are anxiously awaiting to share in this celebrate with you.

Scene: After being escorted out to the , Aiko, Rey and Gess are met by cheers from the citizens that have gathered on their boats and around the city.

Scene: As the fireworks continue, a bird is scared off the top of the gazebo and takes flight towards the city.

Scene: the camera follows the birds flight, time speeds as we leave the city.
